Charming stay in a historic gem

Hospedaje Octavio Hotel is set in the heart of Santillana del Mar, surrounded by stunning medieval architecture. The handcrafted furniture adds a unique touch, making each corner delightful. Maria, the host, was particularly accommodating, even helping me with last-minute changes due to a storm. The cleanliness of the place and warm atmosphere made for a very relaxing stay.

While the location is fantastic, noise from the wooden floors and stairs could be disruptive at night. I struggled to get a restful sleep due to other guests arriving late. Additionally, Wi-Fi connectivity could use improvement, as it buffered at times.

During our two-night stay, we enjoyed the charming old house complete with beautifully carved wooden furniture and a balcony with lovely meadow views. The kids loved exploring the surroundings, especially since it was close to attractions like the Collegiate Church of Santillana del Mar and the Cave of Altamira, which was just a short drive away. The room size was nice and perfect for a family, providing enough space for our little ones to move around comfortably.
